Loft Insulation

Is your home feeling cold and draughty, leading to higher heating bills? Loft insulation is one of the most cost-effective ways to improve your home’s energy efficiency.

It creates a thermal barrier which prevents up to 25% of through-the-roof heat loss, keeping your home warmer with significant savings

Benefits

Installing loft insulation is a quick and effective way to gain numerous benefits for your home and finances.

Lower Energy Bills: By trapping heat in your home, you'll need less energy to stay warm.

Rapid Payback: Loft insulation is an excellent investment that typically pays for itself within two years.

Increased Property Value: Effective insulation can increase your home's value by making it more energy-efficient and appealing to potential buyers.

Environmental Impact: By reducing your energy consumption, you'll also slash your home's carbon footprint.

Quick Installation: Most loft insulation types can be professionally installed in less than a day, with minimal disruption to your home life.

What does loft insulation look like and where does it fit in your house?

Think of loft insulation as a soft and fluffy blanket for your attic. It’s usually made from mineral wool, sheep’s wool, or recycled plastic.

This cosy material fills the spaces between and over the wooden beams in your loft. It’s usually around 27 cm thick and can sit between joints that are 40 to 60 cm apart. If your loft is smaller than this, it might be hard to fit the insulation in properly. Our advisers can help you figure out the best option for your home.

How It Fits in Your Home

Loft insulation is a versatile solution suitable for most homes. Our experts will assess your loft to determine the best insulation type and thickness for your property.

Common Types:

  • Blanket Insulation: The most common type, sold in rolls that are easy to lay between joists.

  • Loose-Fill Insulation: Ideal for filling small, hard-to-reach gaps.

  • Rigid Boards: Used to insulate the underside of the roof itself, particularly great if you plan to use the loft for storage.

Installation:

The process is straightforward. We will prepare your loft space, install the chosen material, and can also add boarding if you want to use the area for storage.
